With over 50 years of experience in farming, Leon Johnson began growing and delivering farm fresh tomatoes and vegetables direct to local stores and restaurants. In 1990, Mr. Johnson opened Flavor Pic Tomato Company, a repack operation in Birmingham Alabama. This family operated and owned business not only supported their farm, it also supported five additional local farms and families in the surrounding area.

The commitment to quality Mr. Johnson upheld during the Alabama tomato season business brought an intense consumer demand for Flavor Pic to begin a year round program. As a year round tomato re-packer, Flavor Pic Tomato quickly filled the need many retailers & restaurants were seeking on regional and national levels.

In 2012 Flavor Pic Tomato partnered with Alex Kontos Fruit, to become one the largest tomato repackers in the Southeast. This partnership strengthened the accessibility and purchasing power allowing FPT & AKF to give customers a competitive pricing program, while continuing to provide exceptional quality and customer service.
